When I first saw this new video from the Dove company on The Today Show last week, it really made an impression on me. As I've been reflecting on things that inspire me this week (see my new Quick Tips Newsletter for October here: Inspire), I started thinking again about this video.
We can find beauty all around us in the natural world; and that includes the natural beauty that each of us possesses. With so many confusing messages about “What is Beautiful” targeting young girls, I'm encouraged that this company is offering an alternative. I have four beautiful nieces and goddaughters and I want them to grow up believing in themselves and not in the artificial, unrealistic ideals that could chip away at their self-esteem and self-confidence.
